Welcome

A little about ourselves

Health & fitness has been a passion of mine starting at age 12. I started off reading Charles Atlas and practicing calisthenics and dynamic tension. I continued reading about strength training and lifting weights in my basement gym. Through the years I worked at local gyms and supplement stores and became more knowledgeable about various aspects of fitness. During college I decided to compete in a few body building competitions. This experience made me realize how important it is to be disciplined when it comes to nutrition and training. With a lot of hard work, I placed 1st place in the Heavyweight Class of the 2006 Missouri State Bodybuilding Championship. I trained in the bodybuilding style for 17 years.
After 17 years I began to dabble outside of my main bodybuilding focus: ran a few half marathons, worked with a track coach, started practicing yoga, worked with a strength and conditioning coach, worked with a powerlifting specialist, caught the powerlifting bug, competed in a few powerlifting meets. More recently I was introduced to these cannonball looking things called kettlebells.
The kettlebells are a terrific tool for strength and conditioning. If you have not used them, I recommend you try them. Just like any other skill I would suggest you start with the basics and practice. Get guidance from someone that is certified in using kettlebells. The StrongFirst SFG is my favorite. I have learned a lot from the StrongFirst community and just recently earned my StrongFirst SFG Kettlebell Instructor Level I certification. Along my fitness journey, I decided to become a personal trainer.
